The governments of Uruguay and Belgium signed an agreement for the expansion of dock C of the port of Montevideo, whose works will begin this week, reported La Red 21 on 9 August 2016, citing the Uruguayan minister of transport and public works, Víctor Rossi.

Specifically, the consortium comprised of Uruguay-based Saceem, an engineering and construction project developer; France-based Soletanche Bachy, a construction company; and Belgium-based Deme, a provider of various marine engineering services.

The works will begin on 11 August and include an extension of 180 meters of dock C, as well as the deepening of the base of the structure and the dock. They are expected to last one year.

Los gobiernos de Uruguay y Bélgica han firmado un acuerdo para la ampliación del muelle C del puerto de Montevideo, cuyas obras comenzarán esta semana, ha publicado La Red 21 el 9 de agosto de 2016, citando al ministro uruguayo de Transporte y Obras Públicas, Víctor Rossi.

En concreto, el consorcio compuesto por la uruguaya Saceem, dedicada al desarrollo de proyectos de ingeniería y construcción; la francesa Soletanche Bachy, empresa constructora; y la belga Deme, prestadora de de numerosos servicios de ingeniería marina.

Las obras comenzarán el 11 de agosto y comprenden una extensión de 180 metros del muelle C, al igual que la profundización de la base de la estructura y la dársena. Se espera que duren un año.
