United States Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade, Stefan Selig, visited Argentina and met with entrepreneurs and Government officials under President Mauricio Macri, aiming to increase bilateral trade and investments, as reported by El Cronista on 24 May 2016.

After an agreement signed by Minister of Production, Francisco Cabrera, and US Secretary of Commerce, Penny Pritzker, during Barack Obama's visit in March (see related Intel), the governments of both countries have started an agreement to increase bilateral trade and investments, through US investments and strengthening them through associations with Argentine companies.

Selig met with CEOs of group Pampa (BCBA: PAMP; NYSE: PAM), Marcelo Mindlin, and of Techint, Paolo Rocca, as well as directors of Pegasus and YPF. He also mentioned that the sectors where they will carry out business opportunities will be financial, technology, machinery, supplies for the oil industry, and agriculture, among others.

El subsecretario de Comercio Internacional del Departamento de Comercio estadounidense, Stefan Selig, ha visitado en Argentina a empresarios y funcionarios de la administración del presidente Mauricio Macri, con el objetivo de incrementar el comercio y las inversiones bilaterales, según ha informado El Cronista el 24 de mayo de 2016.

Tras el acuerdo marco firmado por el ministro de Producción, Francisco Cabrera, y la secretaria de Comercio de los Estados Unidos, Penny Pritzker, durante la visita de Barack Obama en marzo (ver Intel relacionado), los gobiernos de ambos países han puesto en marcha el convenio que busca incrementar el comercio y las inversiones bilaterales, mediante la recepción de inversiones norteamericanas así como el fortalecimiento de éstas con asociatividad con firmas argentinas.

Selig ha sostenido encuentros con los presidentes del grupo Pampa (BCBA:PAMP; NYSE:PAM), Marcelo Mindlin, y de Techint, Paolo Rocca, así como con directivos de Pegasus y YPF. También ha mencionado que los sectores donde llevarán a cabo oportunidades de negocios serán el el sector financiero, tecnología, maquinaria, insumos para la industria petrolera, y agricultura, entre otros.
