During the visit of the minister of energy and mines of the Dominican Republic, Antonio Isa Conde, to Qatar, officials of the Arab country showed interest in the emerging hydrocarbon industry of the Central American nation, reported El Nacional on 26 May, 2016.

Specifically, Isa Conde met with Qatar's minister of energy and industry, Mohammed Bin Saleh Al Sada, who emphasized the strategic position of the Dominican Republic given its geographical location. He also ensured his support to the Central American country in the development of its hydrocarbon industry.

According to the report, the Dominican Republic will soon tender oil blocks and is seeking investors which would be interested in the process.

Durante la visita del ministro de energía y minas de la República Dominicana, Antonio Isa Conde, a Qatar, los funcionarios del país árabe han mostrado su interés en la incipiente industria hidrocarburífera de la nación centroamericana, ha publicado El Nacional el 26 de mayo de 2016.

En concreto, Isa Conde se ha reunido con el ministro de energía e industria de Qatar, Mohammed Bin Saleh Al Sada, que ha destacado la posición estratégica de la República Dominicana por su ubicación geográfica. También ha asegurado su apoyo al país centroamericano en el desarrollo de su industria hidrocarburífera.

Según lo publicado, próximamente la República Dominicana licitará bloques petrolíferos y está en búsqueda de inversionistas interesados en el proceso.
