A Portugal Ventures, firma de venture capital pública com sede no Porto, vai absorve Startup Portugal e passará a ser responsável pela estratégia nacional de empreendedorismo, segundo publicou o Jornal de Negócios em 27 de maio de 2016.

De acordo com a publicação, a Portugal Ventures deixa de ser apenas um veículo de investimento e passa a ser também a missão de fomentar o ecossistema nacional de empreendedorismo. Atrair investidores estrangeiros para Portugal e apoiar as start-ups portuguesas na sua internacionalização estejam, ou não, no portefólio da sociedade capital de risco são, nomeadamente, algumas das funções que a sociedade pública vai ter.

Portugal Ventures, a state-owned venture capital firm based in Oporto, will absorb Startup Portugal and take over leading role in domestic entrepreneurial strategy, as published by Jornal de Negócios on 27 May 2016.

According to the news, Portugal Ventures is no longer just an investment vehicle. It will now also promote domestic entrepreneurship program. Attracting foreign investors to Portugal and support Portuguese startups in their international expansion, whether or not they are part of the venture capital firm's portfolio, will be some of the actions the firm will take.
