Grupo Magtel, based in Spain, could be negotiating with Government of Iran the creation of an oil refinery in Spain. This possible agreement would be carried out through Iran state-owned company National Iranian Oil Refining & Distribution Company (NIORDC), as published by newspaper Expansión on 19 January 2016.

Last week, declarations by Abbas Kazemi, Iranian Deputy Minster of Petroleum and head of National Iranian Company, were disclosed, where he announced the Iranian government's intention to create a company, held by NIORDC with 50% and Spanish partners with 50%, as well as rumors of Spanish companies already negotiating with NIORDIC. Government of Iran may be seeking a third partner, possibly Spain-based Repsol (BME: REP; BASE: REP) or Cepsa.

El Grupo Magtel, con sede central en España, podría estar negociando con el Gobierno de Irán la creación de una refinería petrolífera en Algeciras (Cádiz), mediante un acuerdo que se realizaría a través de la sociedad estatal iraní National Iranian Oil Refining & Distribution Company (NIORDC), según ha señalado el diario Expansión el 19 de enero de 2016.

La semana pasada ya se habían hecho públicas las declaraciones de Abás Kazemi, viceministro de Petróleo iraní y director gerente de la Compañía Nacional Iraní, donde afirmaba que la intención del Gobierno iraní era crear una empresa participada al 50% por NIORDC y 50% por socios españoles, así como, los rumores de la existencia de empresas españolas que ya podrían estar en negociaciones con NIORDIC. El Gobierno de Irán podría estar buscando un tercer socio, posiblemente las españolas Repsol (BME: REP; BCBA: REP) o Cepsa.
