In August, the Latin American transactional market experienced a 7% increase in the value of registered transactions, compared to August 2015. The increase in the region occurred despite a 15% decrease in the number of deals, compared to the same period of 2015. Specifically, Latin America's M&A market is following a constant dynamic in August, with 138 recorded transactions, of which 70 have non-confidential deal values that add up to approximately USD 9.36bn.

Out of the registered transactions, 11 are private equity and 13, venture capital. The private equity sector is most prominent in August's report, given it has carried out 108 transactions so far in 2016, of which 44 have non-confidential deal values that add up to approximately USD 6.24bn, entailing a year-on-year increase of 21.98%.
