eBay (NASDAQ:EBAY), a San Jose, California-based e-commerce services provider, announced it will be selling the majority of its stake in Argentina-based MercadoLibre (NASDAQ:MELI), in a press release issued on 12 October 2016. Specifically, eBay noted it will sell the majority of its stake to obtain a profit on its investment According to a Bloomberg report of the same date, eBay will offer 5,000,000 MercadoLibre shares, which, at the current price, would fetch around USD 1bn. Additionally, eBay and MercadoLibre signed an agreement to advance eBay in cross-border business opportunities for its sellers targeting buyers in Latin America.

eBay (NASDAQ:EBAY), prestadora de servicios online de anuncios clasificados con sede en San José, California, ha anunciado que pondrá a la venta la mayor parte de su participación en la argentina MercadoLibre (NASDAQ:MELI), en una nota de prensa publicada el 12 de octubre de 2016. En concreto, eBay ha señalado que venderá la mayor parte de su participación para obtener una ganancia sobre su inversión. Según ha publicado Bloomberg en esa misma fecha, eBay ofrecerá 5.000.000 de acciones de MercadoLibre, que, al precio actual de la acción, podrían recabar alrededor de USD 1.000m. Asimismo, eBay y MercadoLibre han firmado un acuerdo para asistir a eBay en oportunidades de negocio transfronterizas para sus vendedores que buscan captar compradores en Latinoamérica. |
