Verizon (NYSE:VZ), a US-based telecoms company, will become the first US mobile telephone company to operate in Cuba, reported CNN Expansión on 18 September, 2015. The company reached roaming agreements with Cuba-based telecoms companies to use the local telephone towers. Thus, Verizon customers will be able to make calls, send text messages, and use mobile data during their visit to the island.

La empresa estadounidense de telecomunicaciones Verizon (NYSE: VZ) será el primer operador de telefonía móvil de Norteamérica que opere en Cuba, según ha publicado el diario CNN Expansión el 18 de septiembre de 2015. La empresa llegó a un acuerdo de roaming con las empresas de telecomunicaciones de Cuba para utilizar las torres de telefonía local, pudiendo realizar desde la isla llamadas, enviar SMS y utilizar datos móviles. Todo esto implica que los usuarios pueden utilizar sus móviles durante su estancia en el país. |
