US subsidiary of BBVA appoints Onur Genç CEO

BBVA Compass, a US-based subsidiary of BBVA (BME:BBVA), a Spain-based financial institution, appointed Onur Genç CEO, announced the company in a press release issued on 21 December 2016. The new CEO comes from Garanti Bank, the largest bank in Turkey by stock market capitalization, in which BBVA is the main shareholder, with a 39.9% stake. BBVA also announced Manolo Sánchez will be non-executive chairman of the subsidiary. With the appointment, the bank aims to strengthen the management structure of the US franchise. His appointment will be effective during 1Q17.

BBVA Compass, filial estadounidense de BBVA (BME: BBVA), entidad financiera con sede en España, ha nombrado a Onur Genç como nuevo consejero delegado, según ha informado la propia entidad en un comunicado el 21 de diciembre de 2016. El nuevo CEO procede de Garanti Bank, el banco más grande de Turquía por capitalización bursátil, del que BBVA es principal accionista con una participación del 39,9%. BBVA también ha anunciado que Manolo Sánchez será presidente no ejecutivo de la filial, con lo que el banco pretende reforzar la estructura directiva de la franquicia estadounidense. Su nombramiento se hará efectivo durante el primer trimestre de 2017. |
