UMC Electronics, a Japan-based electronics manufacturer, will launch operations in Mexico at the beginning of 2017 with an investment of USD 16.75m in a plant located in Jalisco, reported El Financiero on 23 September 2016, citing Jalisco Governor Aristóteles Sandoval. Specifically, the company will set up its plant in the town of Lagos de Moreno, in industrial park Parque Industrial Colinas de Lagos. UCM Electronics CEO Uchiyama Shigeki noted the company chose Jalisco given its strategic location and the administrative facilities and legal certainty provided by the state government.

En concreto, la empresa se instalará en el municipio de Lagos de Moreno, en el Parque Industrial Colinas de Lagos.
