An agroindustrial company and two sugar producers, whose identities were not disclosed, expressed their interest in acquiring the La Esperanza sugar factory, located in the province of Jujuy, Argentina, reported El Cronista on 25 January 2017, citing Jujuy Governor Gerardo Morales. Specifically, Morales noted the government of Jujuy could sell the sugar factory in March. The government took over the factory during 2016 and covered a deficit of USD 550m. The factory had filed for bankruptcy in 2000. The transaction includes 9,000 hectares of cane, which can be extended to around 20,000, 40,000 hectares of forest, 9,000 for cattle, and another 1,000 for citrus.

Una empresa agroindustrial y dos azucareras, cuya identidad no ha trascendido, han mostrado su interés en adquirir el ingenio La Esperanza, ubicado en la provincia de Jujuy, Argentina, ha publicado El Cronista el 25 de enero de 2017, citando al gobernador de la provincia, Gerardo Morales. En concreto, Morales ha señalado que el gobierno de Jujuy podría vender el ingenio en marzo. El gobierno ha tomado el control del ingenio durante 2016 y ha cubierto un déficit de USD 550m. El ingenio había declarado la bancarrota en el 2000. La transacción incluye 9.000 hectáreas de caña, que pueden extenderse a unas 20.000, 40.000 hectáreas forestales, 9.000 para ganadería y más de 1.000 de cítricos. |
