América Móvil announced its intention to sell some assets and reduce to less than 50% its share in local telecommunications sector to avoid obligations such as free interconnections with its competitors.

Aunque la subsidiaria de Telefónica en México ha desmentido que esté negociando la adquisición de activos de América Móvil, Telefónica España podría estar haciéndolo, según ha comunicado Francisco Gil, presidente de la unidad de Telefónica en México. América Móvil había anunciado su deseo de vender una parte de sus activos para reducir a menos de 50% su participación en el sector de las telecomunicaciones local y así evitar obligaciones como la de interconectar de manera gratuita a sus competidores. |
