Sweetwell, an Escazú, Costa Rica-based manufacturer of a natural zero-calorie sweetener, plans to open its own distribution center in Colombia with an approximate investment of USD 0.25m, reported El Financiero on 28 August 2016, citing Sweetwell CEO Carlos Mateo.

Specifically, Mateo noted the company wishes to reinforce its customer portfolio in Colombia and estimates the number of stores that sell its products in the country to increase from 80 to 2,000 in a two-year period. The executive added the FTA between Costa Rica and Colombia, which went into effect on 1 August, allows the company to enter the Colombian market more strongly.

Sweetwell already has branches in Peru and Mexico.

Sweetwell, fabricante de un endulzante natural cero calorías con sede en Escazú, Costa Rica, planea abrir un centro de distribución propio en Colombia con una inversión aproximada de USD 0,25m, ha publicado El Financiero el 28 de agosto de 2016, citando al gerente de la empresa, Carlos Mateo.

En concreto, Mateo ha señalado que la empresa desea reforzar su cartera de clientes en Colombia y estima que en dos años el número de locales donde vende su producto en el país aumente de 80 a 2.000. El ejecutivo ha agregado que la entrada en vigencia del TLC entre Costa Rica y Colombia le permite a la empresa entrar con mayor fuerza en el mercado colombiano.

Sweetwell ya tiene filiales en Perú y México.
