Solvay (Euronext Brussels: SOLB), based in Brussels and engaged in the chemical-industrial sector, will begin production of its new line of silica in Brazil, as published by Valor on 13 June 2016, citing its Director of Silica Division in Latin America, François Pontais.

According to the news, the amount invested in this project, which was not disclosed, exceeded USD 10m and raised the Paulinia plant to the same technological level of other plants owned by the group. So far, Brazilian operations had been importing the product from other factories to meet local market.

"Our strategy is to follow the market's growth," said François Pontais.

A companhia belga Solvay (Euronext Brussels:SOLB), com sede em Bruxelas atuante no setor químico-industrial, inicia produção de nova linha de sílica no Brasil, segundo publicou o Valor no dia 13 de junho de 2016, citando o Diretor da unidade de negócios de Sílica da Solvay na América Latina, François Pontais.

Segundo a notícia, o valor investido no projeto, que não é divulgado, foi superior a USD 10m e elevou a fábrica de Paulínia ao mesmo patamar tecnológico das demais unidades fabris do grupo. Até agora, a operação brasileira vinha importando o produto de outras fábricas para atender o mercado local.

"Nossa estratégia é acompanhar o crescimento do mercado", afirma François Pontais.
