SkyPower, a Toronto, Canada-based solar energy generation and exploitation company, announced the development of 500 MW of utility-scale solar energy projects in Panama in the next five years, in a press release issued on 6 October, 2015. The company made the announcement with Panamanian president, Juan Carlos Varela, during the 70th United Nations General Assembly in New York. SkyPower will invest USD 1bn in the projects. It will also build a solar and environmental research center in the country to achieve advancement in solar photovoltaic energy innovation, with an investment of USD 50m.

SkyPower, generadora y explotadora de energía solar con sede en Toronto, Canadá, ha anunciado el desarrollo de proyectos de energía solar para uso público por un total de 500 MW en Panamá en los próximos cinco años, en un comunicado de prensa publicado el 6 de octubre de 2015. La empresa ha hecho el anuncio junto con el presidente panameño, Juan Carlos Varela, en el marco de la 70° Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas en New York. SkyPower hará una inversión de USD 1.000m en los proyectos. También construirá un centro de investigación solar y ambiental en el país, para lograr avances en innovación de energía solar fotovoltaica, en el que invertirá otros USD 50m. |
