Six new mobile telephony operators may arrive in Mexico

The federal telecommunications institute (IFT) of Mexico estimates that, in what is left of 2016, six new mobile telephony operators could arrive in Mexico, reported El Financiero on 25 May, 2016, citing the coordinator of strategic planning of the IFT, Aldo Sánchez Ortega. Though the entity did not disclose the identities of the potential Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNO), it ensured that, following the telecommunications reform, the list of operators can be added to the five companies that currently operate in the country, led by Virgin Mobile de México.

El Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT) ha estimado que en lo que resta del año podrían llegar a México seis nuevos operadores de telefonía móvil, según ha informado El Financiero el 25 de mayo de 2016, citando al coordinador de Planeación Estratégica del IFT, Aldo Sánchez Ortega. Aunque la entidad no ha revelado los nombres de las posibles firmas Operadoras Móviles Virtuales (OMV), IFT ha asegurado que tras la reforma en telecomunicaciones, el listado puede sumar las cinco firmas que actualmente operan en el país, lideradas por Virgin Mobile de México. |
