Portuguese airline SATA, will abandon three routes in 2016, as published by newspaper Jornal de Negócios on 9 November 2015, citing Regional Secretary of Tourism and Transport, Vítor Fraga.

SATA will abandon routes between Azores in Portugal and Madrid in Spain, Amsterdam in The Netherlands, and Paris in France, following a decision taken in 2013 to progressively abandon these unprofitable routes.

Vítor Fraga said "the Regional Government of Azores gave precise directions to SATA, as the main shareholder of the company," since 2009, to "fly a set of routes" aiming to serve the region and, although "it was accepted that these were not profitable, they should be supported by another set of routes " carried out by the Azorean airline.

A companhia aérea portuguesa SATA, vai abandonar três rotas em 2016, segundo publicou o Jornal de Negócios no dia 09 de novembro de 2015, citando ao secretário regional do Turismo e Transportes, Vítor Fraga.

A SATA vai abandonar em 2016 as rotas entre os Açores em Portugal e Madrid na Espanha, Amesterdão nos Países Baixos e Paris na França, na sequência da decisão tomada em 2013 de "abandonar progressivamente" rotas deficitárias.

Vítor Fraga adiantou que "o Governo dos Açores deu indicações precisas à SATA, enquanto principal acionista da empresa", desde 2009, para "efetuar um conjunto de rotas" com o objetivo de servir a região e, embora "se admitisse que pudessem estar no vermelho, teriam de ser sustentadas por um conjunto de outras rotas" da companhia aérea açoriana.
