Spain-based Renfe announced that its subsidiary Renfe Mercancías is looking for an industrial partner to inject capital to increase its market share in the freight transportation segment. According to Renfe's CEO, Berta Barrero, between 2012 and 2014 freight traffic increased by 25%, from 17 to 21.3 million tonnes, but it is still low with negative results. According to Asociación de Empresas Ferroviarias Privadas' director, despite the increase in the number of private operators, it is still difficult to collaborate with the Government, which could justify the negative results.

La empresa española Renfe ha anunciado que su filial Renfe Mercancías está buscando un socio industrial con el fin de inyectar capital y con ello aumentar su cuota de mercado en el sector del transporte de mercancías. Según la directora general de operaciones de Renfe, Berta Barrero, entre 2012 y 2014 ha crecido el tráfico de mercancías un 25%, de 17 a 21,3 millones de toneladas, pero aún así continúa en números rojos. Como ha anunciado el gerente de la Asociación de Empresas Ferroviarias Privadas, a pesar del crecimiento de la participación de operadores privados, sigue siendo difícil colaborar con el Estado, por lo tanto podría ser una causa de sus resultados negativos. |
