Spanish group Prisa has been forced to sell assets to face its debt of approximately EUR 3.300m. This may consequences in Portugal, through the sale of Media Captial (owner of TVI, Rádio Comercial and Plural) is one of the options the group is considering, to fulfill commitments with creditors within its financial restructuring plan.

According to newspaper Expresso, Prisa has already instructed two investments banks to search for buyers for the business. Media Capital and Prisa's board refuse to comment on this. However. Expresso knows two contacts with Portuguese groups were carried out: with Controlinveste (owner of Diário de Noticias, JN and TSF) and Cofina (owner of Correio da Manhã, Record and magazine Sábado).

La compañía española Prisa estudia realizar varias desinversiones para mejorar su posición financiera, que acumula una deuda de EUR 3.300m aproximadamente. En este contexto, la española podría estar estudiando la venta de la portuguesa Media Capital, propietaria de TVI, Rádio Comercial y la productora Plural.

Varios grupos de comunicación lusos podrían estar interesados en adquirir la compañía. En concreto, se trata de Controlinveste (propietaria de Diário de Noticias, JN y de TSF) y Cofina ( propietaria de Correio da Manhã, de Record y de la revista Sábado).

A sucessiva venda de activos a que o grupo espanhol Prisa tem sido obrigado para abater o seu forte endividamento - cerca de EUR 3.300m - pode ter consequências na sua operação em Portugal: a venda da Media Capital, proprietária da TVI, da Rádio Comercial e da produtora Plural, é uma das opções que o grupo está a equacionar para fazer face aos compromissos assumidos perante a banca no seu plano de reestruturação financeira.

Segundo as informações recolhidas pelo Expresso, a holding espanhola já mandatou pelo menos dois bancos de investimento para procurarem potenciais interessados no negócio. As administrações da Media Capital e da Prisa recusam comentar o assunto, mas o Expresso sabe que este processo já terá dado origem a contactos com dois grupos portugueses: a Controlinveste (proprietária do Diário de Noticias, do JN e da TSF) e a Cofina (detentora do Correio da Manhã, do Record e da revista Sábado).
