Portuguese Government plans privatization of management of 25 Youth Hostels

According to Emídio Guerreiro, Secretary of State for Youth and Sport, the Portuguese government intends to privatize the management of 25 Youth Hostels which were previously state-managed, through an auction until June. The state wants to withdraw from the management part of hotel chain Pousadas de Portugal, comprised of 40 hotels including 25 Youth Hostels whose management will be privatized. The operation is planned in two phases, the first until March with the opening of ten units and the remaining 15 until June. The objective is to completely entrust the management of Pousadas de Portugal to partners.

Segundo o Emídio Guerreiro, secretário de Estado da Juventude e do Desporto, o governo português tem a intenção de privatizar a gestão de 25 Pousadas da Juventude que até agora eram geridas estatalmente, por meio da saída destas a concurso até junho. O Estado quer retirar-se da gestão de parte da rede hoteleira de Pousadas de Portugal formada por 40 hotéis entre os quais estão as 25 Pousadas de Juventude cuja administração vai ser privatizada. A operação está planejada em duas fases, a primeira até março com a apertura das candidaturas de dez unidades e as 15 restantes serão até junho. O objetivo mais adiante é entregar a gestão de as Pousadas de Portugal ao completo a parceiros. |
