The government of Peru is in talks to award directly a no-bid contract for block 192, the largest oil block in the country, reported La República on 13 August, 2015. After block 192 was awarded to state-owned oil company Petroperú on 6 August, once the tender was declared deserted, minister of energy and mines, Rosa María Ortiz, said the company does not have the required economic conditions to operate the oil block (see related intel).

El gobierno peruano esta negociando entregar a dedo y por decisiones propias el Lote 192, mayor lote petrolífero del país, según ha publicado el periódico La República el 13 de agosto de 2015. Tras la adjudicación el 6 de agosto del Lote 192 a Petroperú por declararse la licitación fallida, la ministra Rosa María Ortiz declaró que la compañía peruana no tiene las condiciones económicas para operar la explotación petrolera.
