Permira, a UK-based private equity firm, is said to have submitted a bid to acquire the large asset management division of Spain-based Popular Banca Privada and Tressis, reported El Confidencial on 22 April, 2016, citing financial sources.

The private equity firm may be participating in the auction partnered with Tressis, which it has agreed to subsequently merge with Popular Banca Privada should it win the auction.

Permira could be one of five finalists in the sale process of Popular Banca Privada, which also received bids from Spain-based A&G Banca Privada, US-based Warburg Pincus, US-based fund General Atlantic, and a fifth unidentified competitor.

Should Permira's bid prevail, the integration of Popular Banca Privada's large asset management division and Tressis would create a group with EUR 11bn under management, a portfolio of 10,000 clients, and a network of almost 50 offices.

Permira podría haber presentado una oferta para comprar la división de gestión de altos patrimonios de Popular Banca Privada y Tressis, según ha publicado el diario El Confidencial el 22 de abril de 2016, basándose en fuentes financieras.

La firma internacional de private equity se habría presentado al concurso de la mano de Tressis, con la que tiene un acuerdo previo para fusionarla posteriormente con Popular Banca Privada en el caso de imponerse en la puja.

Permira podría ser uno de los cinco finalistas del proceso de venta de Popular Banca Privada, por la que también pujan A&G Banca Privada, Warburg Pincus, el fondo General Atlantic y un quinto competidor, cuyo nombre no ha trascendido.

Si triunfase la oferta de Permira, la integración de la división de grandes patrimonios de Popular Banca Privada y la gestora Tressis daría lugar a un grupo con EUR 11.000m bajo administración, una bolsa de 10.000 clientes y una red de casi 50 oficinas.
