Pemex, a Mexico City-based state-owned oil company, plans to submit the farm-out requests with private companies for five deepwater blocks to Mexico's department of energy (Sener) in August 2015, reported Reuters Latin America on 23 July, 2015, citing Pemex Exploración y Producción's COO, Gustavo Hernández. The blocks in question are Trion, Exploratus, and Maximino, located opposite the state of Tamaulipas in the north of the Gulf of Mexico, and Khuna and Piklis, located opposite the state of Veracruz, in the south of the Gulf.
