Pawa Dominicana, aerolínea con sede en República Dominicana, ha anunciado el inicio de sus operaciones en Puerto Rico, según ha informado El Vocero el 5 de octubre de 2016, citando al director de Asuntos Corporativos de Pawa Dominicana, Alexander Barrios. En concreto, la aerolínea abrirá una ruta de cuatro veces por semana desde Santo Domingo hacia San Juan, Puerto Rico, en aviones con capacidad promedio de 160 pasajeros. En el mediano plazo, la empresa contempla ofrecer vuelos directos desde San Juan a Punta Cana, posterior a la incorporación de Miami y Nueva York a partir de 2017. |
