Papa John's Pizza (NASDAQ: PZZA), a Kentucky-based pizza restaurant chain operator, announced it plans to enter Spain as a franchise, with the opening of its first restaurant in Madrid in 2Q16, reported El Economista on 20 January, 2016.

The main franchise holder of PJ Espana Pizzerías, which is what the Spain-based franchise will be called, will be the same owner of the Chile-based franchise, businessman Nicolás Ibáñez, who signed an agreement with Papa John's Pizza through a subsidiary of its holding, Drake Enterprises.

The agreement entails the opening of over 100 restaurants in Madrid and its surroundings.

Papa John's Pizza (NASDAQ: PZZA), gestora de una cadena de pizzerias con sede en Kentucky, ha anunciado que tiene prevista la entrada por medio de franquicia en España, con la apertura de su primera unidad en Madrid el segundo trimestre de 2016, según publicó El Economista el 20 de enero de 2016.

El principal franquiciado de PJ Espana Pizzerías, nombre que recibirá la franquicia española, será el mismo dueño de la franquicia de Papa John's en Chile, el empresario Nicolás Ibáñez, que ha firmado el acuerdo con Papa John's Pizza a través de una filial de su holding Drake Enterprises.

El acuerdo prevé la apertura de más de 100 restaurantes en Madrid y alrededores.
