Odebrecht, a Salvador, Brazil-based construction and petrochemical company, withdrew its bid for the construction of a bridge over the Panama Canal, reported Reuters on 30 January 2017, citing Panama President Juan Carlos Varela. According to the report, the government of Panama seeks to exclude Odebrecht from new tenders, such as the Canal bridge and a new metro line, while the company is under investigation in the country for bribery and money laundering. Currently, Odebrecht is still developing projects worth USD 3.3bn in Panama, including the expansion of the international airport and the construction of a metro line.

Odebrecht, empresa constructora y petroquímica con sede en Salvador, Brasil, ha retirado su oferta para la construcción de un puente sobre el Canal de Panamá, ha publicado Reuters el 30 de enero de 2017, citando al presidente panameño, Juan Carlos Varela. Según lo publicado, el gobierno de Panamá busca excluir a Odebrecht de nuevas licitaciones, como el puente del Canal y una nueva línea de metro, mientras este siendo investigada en el país por sobornos y lavado de dinero.
