Government of Mozambique approved a new Industrial Property Code, as published by Macauhub on 28 December 2015, citing the Minister of Industry and Trade, Max Tonela.

According to the news, the new code is intended to regulate the legal regime established in Mozambique regarding registration and protection of industrial property law, including patents of inventions, trademarks and industrial designs, and others.

According to the Minister, the document seeks to harmonize the legal regime on industrial property in Mozambique with international instruments for the same effect, given that Mozambique is a member of Regional Industrial Property Organization and the World Intellectual Property Organization.

O governo de Moçambique aprovou um o novo Código de Propriedade Industrial, segundo publicou o Macauhub em 28 de dezembro de 2015, citando ao Ministro da Indústria e Comércio, Max Tonela.

De acordo com a notícia, o novo código é um instrumento que visa regular o regime jurídico estabelecido em Moçambique para o registo e protecção do direito da propriedade industrial, incluindo patentes de invenções, marcas e desenhos industriais, entre outros.

Segundo o Ministro, com a aprovação do documento procura-se harmonizar o regime jurídico sobre propriedade industrial em Moçambique com instrumentos internacionais do mesmo teor, atendendo a que Moçambique é membro da Organização Regional da Propriedade Industrial bem como da Organização Mundial da Propriedade Industrial.
