Mondelēz International (NASDAQ: MDLZ), a US-based food producer, announced its exit from Nicaragua, reported La Prensa on 20 August 2016, citing Mondelēz International Corporate Affairs Representative Silvia Alvarado. Specifically, since 2012, the company has launched a plan of voluntary retirement for their employees for the definite closing of its plant and operations in Nicaragua. However, Alvarado noted the production of Nicaragua will be moved to a plant in Lima, Peru.

En concreto, desde 2012 la empresa ha lanzado un plan de retiro voluntario para sus empleados y así cerrar definitivamente la planta y sus operaciones en Nicaragua.
