The Ministry of Public Works and Transport returns the plan of privatization of Renfe Mercancías, subsidiary of Renfe, a Spain-based state-owned services of rail transport company, reported El Economista on 26 October 2016, citing Secretary of State Office of Infrastructure Julio Gómez-Pomar. The Ministry of Public Works and Transport plans to turn the future of Renfe Mercancías into a logistics firm and this needs the help of an industrial partner and it plans to open the state-owned firm's capital to the private sector. Meanwhile, Gómez-Pomar noted that an operation of merger, acquisition or participation with operators is necessary and this is still pending for the next government.

El Ministerio de Fomento español ha manifestado retomar los planes de privatización de Renfe Mercancías, filial de Renfe, empresa estatal española de servicios de transportes ferroviarios, según ha informado El Economista el 26 de octubre de 2016, citando al secretario de estado en funciones de Infraestructura, Julio Gómez-Pomar. En concreto, el Ministerio de Fomento español planea convertir el futuro de Renfe Mercancías en una firma logística y para ello necesita la ayuda de un socio industrial y para ello planea abrir el capital de la firma estatal al sector privado. Por su parte, Gómez-Pomar ha manifestado que es necesaria una operación de fusión, de compra o de participación con grandes operadores y que esto queda pendiente para el próximo gobierno. |
