Mexico's second long-term power auction to generate USD 4bn in investments

The second long-term auction for the hiring of power, cumulative electric energy, and clean energy certificates of Mexico featured 23 winning companies which will invest USD 4bn in the coming years to install 2,871 MW of capacity of clean energies, reported the Mexican department of energy in a press release issued on 28 September 2016. Specifically, the winning companies come from 11 countries, including Mexico. Some of them are Mexico-based (BMV:IENOVA) (see related intel), Parque Eólico Reynosa III, the federal electricity commission (CFE), and Energía Sierra Juárez; Spain-based Grenergy Renovables (MAB:GREB) (see related intel); and Italy-based Enel Green Power (BME/BIT:EGPW). The average price of the submitted bids was USD 33.47 MW/h, 30% less than that of the first auction. The companies will develop wind, solar, hydraulic, and geothermal energy projects.

La segunda Subasta de Largo Plazo para la contratación de Potencia, Energía Eléctrica Acumulable y Certificados de Energía Limpias de México ha tenido 23 empresas ganadoras que invertirán en los próximos años USD 4.000m para instalar 2.871 MW de capacidad de energías limpias, ha anunciado la Sener en una nota de prensa publiacada el 28 de septiembre de 2016. En concreto, las empresas ganadoras provienen de 11 países, incluido México. Algunas de las ellas han sido las mexicanas IEnova (BMV:IENOVA) (ver intel relacionado), Parque Eólico Reynosa III, la Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE), y Energía Sierra Juárez; la española Grenergy Renovables (MAB:GREB) (ver intel relacionado); y la italiana Enel Green Power (BME/BIT:EGPW).
