Medcem Global, an Istanbul, Turkey-based cement manufacturer, will launch operations in Colombia with the construction of a USD 50m plant in Zona Franca Brisa, reported Reuters Latin America on 24 June, 2015, citing Zona Franca Brisa CEO, Víctor Covo. The plant will have a cement production capacity of 3m tons per year. It will be built in the department of La Guajira and will cover an area of five hectares. Covo noted that Medcem plans to produce the type of cement used in the offshore oil industry. Medcem is still awaiting an environmental license from the Colombian government to proceed with construction.

Medcem Global, empresa cementera con sede en Estambul, Turquía, entrará a Colombia con la construcción de una planta de USD 50m en la Zona Franca Brisa, ha publicado Reuters América Latina el 24 de junio de 2015, citando al CEO de la Zona Franca Brisa, Víctor Covo. La planta tendrá capacidad para producir 3m de toneladas de cemento por año. Será construida en el departamento de La Guajira y cubrirá un área de cinco hectáreas. Covo señaló que Medcem planea producir el tipo de cemento utilizado en la industria petrolera offshore. Para comenzar a construir la planta, Medcem necesita recibir las licencias ambientales del gobierno colombiano. |
