Maxcom, a Mexico-based telecoms company engaged in land telephony services, announced it will enter the video streaming market in Mexico, reported El Financiero on 31 May, 2016, citing Maxcom CEO, José Gómez Obregón. Obregón noted the company expects to apply new business models as part of its restructuring process, but ruled out a sale (see related intel). The company also announced a USD 32m investment and the possibility of launching itself into the video streaming market through wholesalers in an OTT format.

Maxcom, compañía mexicana de telecomunicaciones dedicada a la telefonía fija, ha anunciado que llegará al mercado del streaming de vídeo en México, según ha informado El Financiero el 31 de mayo de 2016, citando al gerente general de Maxcom, José Gómez Obregón. Como parte de su proceso de reestructuración, el director general que anunciado que la firma estima llegar a nuevos modelos de negocio y descarta ponerse en venta (ver Intels relacionados). La firma también ha anunciado una una inversión de USD 32m y la posibilidad de lanzarse al negocio del streaming de video a través de mayoristas en un formato OTT. |
