La Quinta, an Irving, Texas-based hotel chain, will open its first hotel in Chile, reported PRNewswire on 7 May, 2015, citing Rajiv Trivedi, Chief Development Officer at La Quinta. La Quinta has made a franchise agreement with Chilean realtor Inmobiliaria e Inversiones Profit Summit to open an LQ Hotel, one of the chain's brands. The hotel will be located in Pudahuel, near the Santiago airport and will open in 2017. This opening is part of La Quinta's plan to expand into Latin America. The company has been in the hotel business for 47 years and runs more than 870 La Quinta Inn & Suites and La Quinta Inns in the US, Canada and Mexico. Peruvian newspaper Gestión reported on 8, May, 2015, that La Quinta is analyzing entry in Peru, Uruguay, Paraguay and Argentina. Gestión did not cite sources in its report.
