Chile-based LATAM Airlines announced its intention to develop a hub in northeast Brazil, to increase connections for passenger flights within Brazil and connections between Latin America and Europe.

According to TAM and TAM Linhas Aéreas' CEO Claudia Sender, the main benefits will be the European destinations, which will increase the connectivity of both passengers and freight to Brazil and other markets.

Grupo LATAM confirmed that flights will be carried out with its current fleet, they do no not require new investments in aircrafts, until the end of the year.

La aerolínea chilena LATAM Airlines ha anunciado su intención de desarrollar un hub en el nordeste de Brasil con el fin de ampliar la conectividad de los pasajeros tanto en vuelos dentro de Brasil como en conexiones entre Latinoamérica y Europa.

Según la presidenta ejecutiva de TAM y TAM Linhas Aéreas, Claudia Sender, los principales beneficios de este proyecto serán para los destinos en Europa, que incrementará la conectividad tanto de pasajeros como de mercancías hacia Brasil y otros mercados.

Desde el Grupo LATAM han asegurado que dichas operaciones se llevarán a cabo mediante su flota actual, no siendo necesario realizar nuevas inversiones en aviones hasta fines de año.
