Italian government informed the Mexican government of its interest in increasing corporate investment in the country's energy sector, as published by newspaper Yucatan on 17 November 2015.

Part of this interest, even with participation of state-owned companies, was manifested by the National Oil Corporation of Italy, which studied the possibility of achieving a strategic partnership agreement with Pemex.

The representatives followed the agreements made on their last meeting on 15, held in Milan. During this meeting the two governments signed various economic cooperation instruments, related to the energy sector, space and judicial cooperation.

El Gobierno de Italia ha manifestado al gobierno mexicano su interés por acrecentar la inversión empresarial en el sector energético mexicano, según ha publicado el diario de Yucatán el 17 de noviembre de 2015.

Parte de este interés en el sector energético, incluso con la participación de empresas estatales, se ha manifestado con la Corporación Nacional de Hidrocarburos de Italia, que ha estudiado la posibilidad de lograr un acuerdo de asociación estratégica con Pemex.

Los mandatarios dieron seguimiento a los acuerdos que alcanzaron en su pasada reunión del 15 de junio, celebrada en Milán, durante la cual ambos gobiernos firmaron una serie de instrumentos de cooperación económica en torno al sector de la energía, el espacio y la cooperación judicial.
