IFT adds TV and radio channels to frequency tender

Mexico's federal telecommunications institute (IFT) added 46 digital TV channels to the 123 that were already included in the tender of frequencies for 2016, announced the IFT in a press release issued on 14 January, 2016. In total, the IFT will tender 194 channels, 148 of land digital television for commercial use, 40 for public use, and 6 for social use. Regarding broadcasting frequencies, the institute will tender 129 for FM radio and 22 for AM radio.

El Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT) de México ha añadido 46 canales de televisión digital a los 123 que ya formaban parte de la licitación de frecuencias de 2016, ha anunciado el IFT en una nota de prensa el 14 de enero de 2016. En total, el IFT licitará 194 canales, 148 de Televisión Digital Terrestre para uso comercial, 40 para uso público y 6 para uso social. En cuanto a las frecuencias de radiodifusión, se licitarán 129 de radio FM y 22 de radio AM. |
