Grupo Pachuca, a Mexico-based football club manager, and Grupo Carso (BMV:GCARSO), a Mexico-based industrial company, are said to be in Viña del Mar, Chile, to negotiate the acquisition of the Everton de Viña del Mar football team, reported AS.com on 18 May, 2016.

According to the report, with the acquisition, the Mexico-based groups seek to add a historic team with real chances of playing in the first division of its country.

Additionally, Pachuca and Carso may have also received the interest of Millonarios de Colombia, but the groups are said to be more interested in the Everton, given it represents a lower expense and greater chances of closing the transaction.

Specifically, Pachuca and Carso already manage football teams Real Oviedo, in Spain, Talleres de Córdoba, in Argentina, Pachuca, León, Mineros de Zacatecas, and Coyotes de Tlaxcala, in Mexico.
