Mexican businessman Roberto Alcántara, through the company Grupo Herradura, could acquire junior debt of Spain-based communication group Prisa to capitalize it into shares, reported El Economista on 24 February 2017. Currently, Grupo Herradura is the fourth shareholder of Prisa, with an 8.92% stake. The potential acquisition of debt could reach a maximum of EUR 428.9m, a figure that represents the company's passive with fewer guarantees of charge. The acquisition would give the Mexico-based group control of Prisa and would keep Juan Luis Cebrián, a friend of Alcántar, as Prisa President.

El empresario mexicano Roberto Alcántara, a través de la sociedad Grupo Herradura, podría comprar deuda junior del grupo de comunicación español Prisa, para capitalizarla por acciones, según ha informado El Economista el 24 de febrero de 2017. Actualmente Grupo Herradura es el cuarto accionista de Prisa con el 8,92% del capital. La posible compra de deuda podría alcanzar un máximo de EUR 428,9m, cifra que representa el pasivo con menores garantías de cobro de la empresa. Esta adquisición daría el control de Prisa al grupo mexicano y mantendría en el cargo al actual presidente de Prisa y amigo de Alcántara, Juan Luis Cebrián. |
