Nicolás Maduro, the president of Venezuela, expressed his interest in acquiring on behalf of the state the local private telecommunications companies which cannot carry out their operations due to economic problems, reported El Universal on 1 August 2016. According to the report, the crisis some of Venezuela's telecoms companies are experiencing may be the result of the prices at which they've kept their rates in a period of high inflation.

Según la noticia, la situación de crisis en la que se pueden ver envueltas algunas compañías de telecomunicaciones venezolanas sería consecuencia de los precios que han mantenido en sus tarifas en un periodo de alta inflación. |
