La directora de negocios del Gobierno de Puerto Rico, Awilda Mercado Torres, ha anunciado el interés del país por captar inversiones mexicanas, según ha informado el diario El Economista el 5 de junio de 2016.

Awilda ha asegurado que las inversiones procedentes de México proporcionan estabilidad a Puerto Rico en el contexto financiero, ya que se trata de un país libre asociado a Estados Unidos, que utiliza el dólar como moneda oficial.

Asimismo, la directora de negocios del Gobierno de Puerto Rico ha indicado que las oportunidades de inversión que hay en su país están relacionadas con las botellas de vidrio para el ron, los ingenios de caña de azúcar, la industria avícola y el cine.
