The approval of the Oil Law revision by the Parliament will allow the government of Mozambique to issue new exploration licenses to companies that will have to partner with government-owned Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos, said the Minister of Mineral Resources. Within this new legislation, which will enter into force at the end of the year, foreign companies interested in oil and natural gas exploration licenses will have to partner with the State-owned company. In addition, 25% of produced gas will have to be sold in the domestic market.

A aprovação na especialidade pelo parlamento da proposta de revisão da Lei dos Petróleos permitirá ao governo de Moçambique emitir novas licenças de prospecção a empresas que terão de se associar à estatal Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos, afirmou a ministra dos Recursos Minerais. Ao abrigo da nova legislação, que entrará em vigor no final do ano, as empresas estrangeiras interessadas em licenças de prospecção de petróleo e gás natural têm de se associar à empresa estatal moçambicana e 25% de todo o gás produzido tem de ser comercializado no mercado doméstico. |
