Government of Mozambique will privatize five national highways to promote a bigger traffic flow and road security. According to the Minister of Public Works and Housing, Cadmiel Muthemba, the roads that join Matola-Boane and Marracuene-Lindela, in the south, Vandúzi-Changara, in the center, Nampula-Nacala and Monapo-Ilha de Moçambique, in the north, will be privatized. The concession of these five highways is part of public-private partnerships and aims to instill the concept of user-pays in the minds of the people of Mozambique through toll payments, which will be installed in these highways.

O Estado moçambicano vai privatizar cinco estradas nacionais com o objetivo de promover uma maior transitabilidade e segurança rodoviária. Segundo o ministro moçambicano das Obras Públicas e Habitação, Cadmiel Muthemba, passam à gestão privada os troços entre os distritos da Matola e Boane e Marracuene-Lindela, no sul do país, os trajectos Vandúzi-Changara, no centro, bem como Nampula-Nacala e Monapo-Ilha de Moçambique, no norte. A concessão das cinco rodovias enquadra-se no âmbito das parcerias público-privadas e pretende-se incutir nos utentes moçambicanos o conceito de utilizador-pagador, através do pagamento das portagens que serão instaladas nos referidos troços. |
