El Gobierno de México evalúa la posibilidad de abrir 18 aeropuertos del país a inversión privada, de manera parcial o total, según ha publicado el periódico El Economista el 11 de junio de 2015.

Algunos de los aeropuertos susceptibles de ser privatizados son: Internacional de Cd del Carmen, Internacional de Toluca, Internacional de Puerto Escondido, Internacional de Loreto, Internacional de Matamoros, Internacional de Campache, Internacional de Chetumal, Internacional de Nuevo Laredo, Internacional de de Tuxtla Gutiérrez e Intercontinental de Queretaro.
