The government of Jamaica is seeking investors to take over the Monymusk Sugar Factory, located in Clarendon, announced the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries of Jamaica in a press release issued on 5 January 2017. Specifically, the factory in question belonged to Jamaica-based Pan-Caribbean Sugar Company, who decided to cease the plant's operations in 2018. Jamaica Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries Karl Samuda noted several investors submitted bids and added there are talks in a preliminary stage.

El gobierno de Jamaica está en la búsqueda de inversores para tomar el control de la fábrica de azúcar Monymusk Sugar Factory, ubicada en Clarendon, ha anunciado el Ministerio de Industria, Comercio, Agricultura y Pesca de la isla en una nota de prensa publicada el 5 de enero de 2017. En concreto, la fábrica en cuestión pertenecía a la empresa jamaicana Pan-Caribbean Sugar Company, que había dedicido cesar las operaciones de la planta en 2018. El ministro de Industria, Comercio, Agricultura y Pesca Karl Samuda ha señalado que varios inversores han presentado ofertas y ha añadido que existen negociaciones en etapa preliminar. |
