The government of Honduras informed it estimates the launch of the tender of the interoceanic train will be in June 2016, reported La Prensa on 5 April, 2016, citing minister of economic development, Arnaldo Castillo. Castillo noted that, before launching the tender, a process must be carried out to check the operational and financial viability of the project. The official added there are companies from the United States, Turkey, China, and India interested in the works. The interoceanic train will go from Puerto Castilla, Colón, to Amapala, Valle (a distance of 400 km), connecting the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

El gobierno de Honduras ha informado que estima lanzar la licitación del tren interoceánico en junio de 2016, ha publicado La Prensa el 5 de abril de 2016, citando al ministro de Desarrollo Económico del país, Arnaldo Castillo. Castillo ha señalado que, antes de lanzar la licitación, se debe llevar a cabo un proceso para analizar la viabilidad operativa y financiera del proyecto. El funcionario ha agregado que empresas de Estados Unidos, Turquía, China y la India ya han demostrado su interés en la obra. El tren interoceánico irá desde Puerto Castilla, Colón, hasta Amapala, Valle (una distancia de 400 km) y conectará los oceános Atlántico y Pacífico. |
