Argentina President Mauricio Macri may have given the order to accelerate deadlines to re-privatize MetroGas (BCBA:METR), a Buenos Aires, Argentina-based natural gas distributor, reported El Cronista on 5 December 2016, citing sources familiar with the matter. The company, currently controlled by YPF (BCBA:YPFD; NYSE:YPF), an Argentina state-run oil company, may be seeking a foreign group to add players to the energy market in the country and, at the same time, normalize its legal situation. YPF's control of MetroGas may breach the so-called Gas Law preventing vertical integration in the energy market and prohibiting an oil and gas production and transport company such as YPF to assume control of a distribution company such as MetroGas.

El presidente de Argentina, Mauricio Macri habría dado la orden de acelerar los plazos para reprivatizar MetroGas (BCBA:METR), distribuidora de gas natural con sede en Buenos Aires, Argentina, según ha informado El Cronista el 5 de diciembre de 2016, citando a fuentes cercanas al asunto. La compañía, actualmente controlada por YPF (BCBA:YPFD; NYSE:YPF), petrolera estatal argentina, estaría buscando un grupo extranjero para sumar jugadores al mercado energético en el país y a la vez, querer normalizar la situación legal en la que opera la compañía. La situación de YPF en MetroGas incumpliría con la llamada Ley del Gas que impide la integración vertical en el mercado de la energía y prohibe a una empresa productora y transportadora como es YPF asumir el control de una compañía distribuidora como lo es MetroGas. |
