The government of Argentina could approve the sale of shares the national administration of social security, ANSES, holds in different companies, reported ARG Noticias on 26 April, 2016, citing ANSES director, Emilio Basavilbaso. For now, there is a law prohibiting the sale of the shares, but there is a possibility that the current government could void the law. If it does, the funds collected in the sales would go towards paying retirees that have sued the entity, noted Basavilbaso. The law refers to the shares acquired by ANSES after 2008, when it was nationalized. Those shares represent minority stakes in a group of varied companies.
