President of Bankia, José Ignacio Goirigolzarri, claims if there are no changes in entities and no improvements in revenue, there could be new mergers in Spain's banking sector, reported Cinco Días on 22 October, 2015. In conference at Círculo Ecuestre in Barcelona, he noted the current structure of the financial system is reasonable, but no rise of interest rates should be expected until 2017, which would complicate the rise of profitability and may lead to new mergers in "three to four years" if no changes occur.

El presidente de Bankia, José Ignacio Goirigolzarri, ha asegurado que si no hay cambios en las entidades y no logran mejorar ingresos podría haber nuevas fusiones en la banca española, según ha publicado Cinco Días el 22 de octubre de 2015. En una conferencia en el Círculo Ecuestre en Barcelona, ha afirmado que la estructura actual del sistema financiero es razonable, pero que es esperable que no haya subida de tipos hasta 2017, lo que dificultará el aumento de la rentabilidad y puede llevar a nuevas integraciones en “tres o cuatro años” si la situación no cambia. |
