Glencore (LSE:GLEN), a Switzerland-based company from the minerals sector, is said to have abandoned the sale of Chilean mine Lomas Bayas, reported Reuters on 11 August 2016, citing source familiar with the matter. According to the report, the decision was motivated by the lack of attractive bids for the asset, which Glencore hoped to sell in USD 500m. Glencore launched the sale of Lomas Bayas in October 2015 in an effort to reduce debt and, since then, received the interest of different bidders (see related intel). The company is said to be in a stronger situation now and not willing to sell the asset at any price, the report stated.

Glencore (LSE:GLEN), empresa suiza del sector de minerales, habría abandonado la venta de la mina chilena Lomas Bayas, ha publicado Reuters el 11 de agosto de 2016, citando fuentes con conocimiento del tema. Según lo publicado, la decisión habría sido motivada por la falta de ofertas atractivas por el activo, que Glencore esperaba vender en USD 500m. Glencore ha lanzado la venta de Lomas Bayas en octubre de 2015 en un afan por reducir deuda y, desde entonces, ha recibido el interés de diferentes postores (ver intels relacionados).
