Generalitat de Valencia wants to sell a 51% stake in waste management company Piedra Negra, through Vaersa. The deadline for proposals ended on 24 March 2015, but the envelopes will only be opened on the 26th. Privatization has been strongly opposed by the local population, and Consorcio de Basuras is considering an expropriation of the plant after its sale. The remaining 49% stake is held by Cespa, controlled by Ferrovial group.

La Generalitat de Valencia quiere vender el 51% del accionariado que mantiene, a través de la empresa pública Vaersa, en la empresa de tratado de residuos Piedra Negra. El plazo para presentar ofertas finalizó el 24 de marzo de 2015, aunque hasta el día 26 no se abren los sobres para conocer las propuestas de adquisición. La privatización ha tenido un fuerte rechazo entre la población local, e incluso el Consorcio de Basuras baraja llevar a cabo una expropiación de la planta tras su venta. El 49% restante del accionariado está en manos de Cespa, del grupo Ferrovial. |
